Funny how people's yards have bullets about 1 mile away and over a mountain, while no one in the parking has had problems with ricochets.....
there have been incidents of broken windows in the parking lot. Doubters can talk to the ROs at the range.

I've seen inexperianced shooters over shoot the berm or backstop while settling into a standing position with their finger resting on the trigger...

Punishing the long range shooters for a noob accident

100 yards suck.  It was challenging to hit the 200 and 300 yard plates standing with my M4 with irons, used to enjoy doing it but no more.

But eh, you can come out to Puuloa and enjoy our 600 yard rifle range.

Dammit!  I liked shooting the metal targets!  I'm an avid surfer and would love to go shooting but have realized in the last few years hawaii sucks in this area.  Where can I move to that has year round warm water surf and gun laws like Texas???   :(

So does this mean we won't see hikers going up Kokohead during live fire anymore?  I mean after all, these measure are being put in place for Public Safety Concerns.

That's my biggest gripe. That trail isn't sanctioned and is supposedly illegal yet there are more incidents that occur there than at the range. How may times can you cite an HFD heli ferrying an injured hiker?  There are no regulations or ticketing of these illegal hikers. Greg Knudsen's last argument of finding a bullet there at the trail, should've brought a reaction about him being an illegal hiker - a trespasser. In fact, there was a very violent crime that occurred there years ago involving a now freed, mentally ill criminal who stabbed two hikers on that trail.
The city or state should realize that the ILLEGAL trail is costing them more than the Kokohead shooting complex.

You guys might want to pull up the original news story on Hawaii News Now.  When they aired it I seem to remember them showing the bullet and it was in really good shape.  Plus, if you see where it came through his window (also shown in the news story) it is up at the top, not the center or bottom.  Seems extremely fishy to me.
It is what it is.

Searched, but can't find anything, do you have a link?

I also heard it had no markings and that it was fabricated or something like that.

That was the last one he showed at the meeting a year ago....before that he busted out a 7.7mm 2" bullet from a Japanese Zero WW2 or something like that.

This is a strange coincidence. I heard that the Director of Parks and Recreation has just banned the use of all clubs except for pitching wedges at the Hawaii Kai Golf course to address complaints of stray golf balls in the neighboring community.
