Anyone heard of Melissa Bachman?
« on: November 19, 2013, 09:34:51 AM »
I stumbled upon her videos last night and most of the comments were pretty bad. Today I see her in the news. I don't know the details but it seems like she goes hunting with bows, rifles, etc. for fun and either does not keep the meat or donates it. What do you think about what's she doing?

The hunt was a guided hunt. The animals that are taken are chosen by the guides. Meat goes to good use. Cost of the hunt is used for restoration of the area. I don't see anything bad. That is my own opinion.

"We do ethical hunting and all meat from animals hunted is distributed to the local community," apost on Maroi's Facebook page reads. "Funds generated from hunting goes towards fixing the border fence that was washed away in the 2013 floods, combating poaching, which is excessive in this area due to close proximity to Zimbabwe, and running a sustainable conservancy."

The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

I'm guessing the problem is more about what she is hunting that everyone is complaining about? Killing Lions, bears, etc. the more exotic type instead of like buffalos. IDK?

Not sure what the big deal is.  It must be the tree hugging vegetarians that are complaining.
