Most people I know who watch NFL NBA any pro sports so they can bet on the winning team.

I personally don't watch, because I don't like the fact I am watching grownups playing kid games making more than me.

That comment doesn't include me at all.  I have never been a football fan, especially pro franchises.  Too much money spent on a game, like it really means something when "your team" wins.   

I never have understood why we spend a few months of our lives watching and supporting pro sports while people go hungry, homeless, and without basic necessities every day of the year .

Meanwhile, the guy who can run, throw, and tackle gets a full college scholarship and a pro contract worth millions right out of school.

I've long held the opinion our nation has a real problem setting priorities when it comes to sports versus more pragmatic endeavors.
