What is your focus? If you are looking for something combat oriented with the most transferable skill sets, PM K3OLA about getting in touch with local Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) schools, specifically those that focus on Kali; this is what the big boys learn, higher up on the food chain, i.e. Army SpecOps. Can't speak for what the Navy or Marines do, but nobody in their right mind is doing TaeKwonDo, unless they fight people with zero fighting skills.
If you want to learn grappling, there are lots of guys on the forum who might be able to help, including me.
I think you meant Kalis as in blade not Kali as in Indiana Jones.
Mr. Smith offers a variety of hand to hand, including CQD, training combined with firearms, disarmament, and Krav Maga which has even more application's in real life than FMA.
FMA is actually based on eastern and western techniques any how, except with emphasis on blunt objects, blades and clubs.
Personally, I believe a combination of a variety of techniques is best for self defense.
(Ever hear of Jeet Kine Do ?)

Bottom line, any thing you do is better than nothing, just do it regularly and get that heart rate up !
Zombie rule #1-cardio.
And watch out of Q's desire to grapple !
