Shotgun 00 loads for HD? (Read 7260 times)

Shotgun 00 loads for HD?

Hey I was just curious what you all have in your shotguns for HD? I currently have Speer 00 8-pellet buckshot. I was trying to look for the Federal 00 Buckshot with Flight control wad but cant find anyone that carries it on island. Do any of you know of a LGS that sells this? If not, any recommendations for HD loads? Any particular brands you favor? Thanks.

i prefer anything that's low recoil
the fed with the flight control is really good stuff

some people will argue for birdshot due to possibility of over penetration with 00 buck

Hey thanks guys. So far I tried Sports Authority, OGC, Sec Hawaii,and X-ring Firearms for the Federal 00 buckshot with flight control wad and they dont carry them in stock.

00 is always a solid choice, when you get to birdshot, not so much.  Flight control is great when you have to extend distance but in reality HD situations are not to the point where flight control gives an advantage.  Unless if your hale is a mansion.

You don't need flight control anything.

It's HD ammo for fooks sake.

I'm a huge fan of #4 buck, but you usually have to order online or have a LGS bring you in a case.

Why doesn't anyone bring in #4 buck ?
Looked everywhere.

I got #4 high brass bird with 00 on the stock.

You get hit with #4 HB bird at 20 feet (hallway distance) it won't be pretty.
(try it on a watermelon)

And as Clint Smith says: " shoot 'em, then shoot'em, then shoot 'em again. "

 Flight control wad ???  if you wanna keep it tight, why not just use a slug?  its not like 00buck will spread that much in a house/hallway.
