Schatz on "undetectable firearms"
« on: February 07, 2014, 06:51:06 AM »
I really hate the idea that this guy is going to be "our" Senator in Washington for another 6 years after the fall election. Isn't there anyone in Hawaii that stands a chance of unseating this ignorant moron person? Of course it's "for the children"!  :wtf:

        Senator Brian Schatz

To [Punaperson]

Dear Mr. [Punaperson],

Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 1774, the  Undetectable Firearms Reauthorization Act of 2013.

No single piece of legislation will put an end to violent crime, but gun control reform will better protect our children and improve the safety of our communities.   I recognize the importance of protecting both public safety and Second Amendment rights, and   know that we can   uphold both.

The Senate passed the  Undetectable Firearms Act unanimously on December 9, 2013, without closing the undetectable homemade   guns loophole.   I cosponsored an amendment that would have closed this loophole because we must act to prevent dangerous people from using new technology, like 3D printing, to produce and carry guns that cannot be detected through x-rays.     As passed, the  Undetectable Firearms Act does not go far enough to protect Hawaii families.

While we may disagree on this matter, I hope that this has helped to clarify my position and that you will continue to stay in touch on issues important to you.    Mahalo again for contacting me.

Sincerely,

BRIAN SCHATZ
U.S. Senator

He is a utopian dreamer moron, He thinks a stupid law will prevent people of ill will and bad intent from manufacturing what ever the hell they want?  IMO, these bastards know exactly what they are doing.  They misinform and manipulate the idiotic zombie liberal imbeciles into believing this crap and continue to vote them in.  He needs to be voted out and a conservative person voted in.  No question.  I hope you all out there stop with the listening to your unions sponsoring these freedom grabbing crooks.  They have not and will not be in your interest to keep these national socialist party goons in power. :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

What he fails to realize is that criminals, let alone those parties who seek to do our nation harm,  aren't going to follow the rule of law.   :grrr:
No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Hey Heavies, thanks for that. Good to know it's not just me.

First of all there are no "undetectable firearms", but Schatz wants to scare people into thinking that such things exist. And when he writes "we must act to prevent dangerous people from using new technology"... doesn't this guy know that several criminologists report that when interviewing criminals incarcerated for gun crimes are asked about how gun control laws effect their acquisition and use of firearms they literally laugh out loud? Like you said.  :shaka:

Someone should ask him to show us all an undetectable gun!  Of course he would not be able to. But in his mind and others like him, that would just be PROOF that they exist!

I'm not convinced there is any thought there at all. Hawaii Senators walk lockstep with what ever the party positions are.

Any (legal) suggestions as to how that could be accomplished? My preference would be that his head (throbbing or not) be somewhere other than the U.S. Senate through 2020. But if Lingle lost by such a huge margin to Hirono, I have no idea what candidate would stand a chance against the "incumbent" (appointed) Democrat. Oh, crap, I'm getting nauseous again.  :shake:

Response reminded me of the whole Glock metal detector thing in the 80's.
