Copper plated bullet heads. Found some on line. Was planing to reload 308 to be used in a ar10. How good or bad is this stuff. How is it with fowling. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks

Copper plated not normally as accurate as copper swaged bullets. Hows the finish?
If its rough and you going use it for plinking it's fine. Precision forget it.

  I've loaded many copper plated pistol bullets and have had no problems with them and have been getting good accuracy with them but i haven't loaded copper plated rifle bullets so i cant give u first hand knowledge but from what I gathered its recommended to keep them below 1500fps and not to load them to jacketed velocities so if your just wanting to make a cheap plinking round for close distance I would say go for it but if your looking for an accurate bullet to shoot at distance it's probably not the bullet for you. Also something you might want to take into consideration is the bullet profile if it's a flat point bullet you might have feeding issue in your semi.

Thanks good to know especially feeding issue. I can only find the flat point.

Most manufacturers of copper plated bullets do not recommend velocities over 1,300 to 1,500fps. .308 copper plated bullets are probably meant for subsonic .300 Blackout loads, not .308 Winchester loads.
