I'm looking adding 12 gauge to my list of reloading.  Questions I have:

1.  Price for reloading components?  Is it cheaper to just buy rounds from Sports Authority?

2.  Where on this island can I find reloading components (shot, powder, primer)?

3.  What press do you recommend?  I was looking at the Lee II Shotshell

Welcome to the wonderful world of reloading.  The cost for reloading will depend somewhat on the volume of shooting you plan on doing - is this reloading to practice for something with a high round count like skeet or trap practice? or is it more for bird hunting?  If it's for hunting purposes where you may not be shooting several hundred rounds in an outing, you may just want to save yourself some time and money by purchasing what you need off store shelves.  If you're looking to get better at skeet or trap, investing in a press is definitely worthwhile.

The most expensive component of reloading will most often be the press itself, then shot, powder & primers, and then wads.  You can find shot and powder at either Security Equipment in town or X-Ring out in Waipahu. (try and compare the antimony % in the shot you buy.  The higher the number the harder the shot is and more resistant the shot will be to deformation)

A single stage press is fine to start off with - it gets you into having good habits when reloading.  As you get more comfortable reloading, and depending on how much shooting you're doing, you may want to look at a progressive.  I'm not going to be a fan boy and tell you that brand X is better than all the rest - the best reloader is the one that fits you and your budget.  You might also want to get a really good shop vac if you're loading skeet or trap loads, because let's face it, we all make mistakes.

I use green dot and 7.5 or 8 shot.If u reload pistol or rifle Id look for a powder  You can use for both.I use green dot for 12g,45-70,44 mag(target load)

5+% to 6% antimony would be good if you can get the higher percentage the better.  You can get away with #8 when you're on the 16 to maybe the 20 yard line, but past that you'll want 7.5  because it will retain more energy at the distances you'll be shooting trap at.  As for powder my experience has been that while green dot is "softer", it doesn't burn up completely so it'll leave your barrel dirtier than Winchester powder.  Winchester loads come out hot, but burn more completely.  I didn't have any scientific measuring devices to substantiate this other than looking down the barrel after shooting a few rounds of each. 

Mec reloader is what I use and love it. Just need to pay attention.
