Stovepipe jams on semiauto shotgun(s)

So I was at the range with my friend breaking in my Vepr 12, and he had two stovepipes, while I had none. We were both shooting 1oz slugs. He's a skinny dude that doesn't have the best stance. Could his not leaning into the stock that great be the reason for the FTEs?

Yes, absolutely.

I've noticed that my Saiga 12 runs flawlessly when I shoot it but I've seen FTE problems when my smaller friends try it.
Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

Cool. Thanks for the response.

I thought it had to be him because my Vepr was running so smooth when I was firing it.
