 I ask that you please review HB2070 and the testimonies presented in that bill and strongly consider indefinitely deferring SB2511.

 There is strong opposition to this type of legislation which seeks more money for programs with strong negative impacts for the people living in these very communities.

 We need more public input and a decision like this is not easily made and the people need to be involved with this planning.

Here are the dollars for NARS and Watershed initiatives to the tune of

           2013-2014             2014-2015

 NARS      $5 million            $2.5 million

 Watershed $5 million            $7.5 million

 NARS
 Manuka    $1.5 million          $2 million

 Also for Natural Area Reserves & Watershed Management operating under
 (general funds)

 FY 2013-2014    FY 2014-2015
 $4,222,515      $8,222,575

For a total of $36,000,000 to Preservation.

None of this really benefits the people of Hawaiʻi when in one year they can say we have a water crisis and then the next year change their tune and say there isnʻt a problem so they can build a new resort.  Itʻs all just a sham especially when all they do is put up fences and eradicate all of the animals that many of us hunt.  Maybe they should look into repairing and updating infrastructure for the watersheds maybe they should work with the hunting community.
