Sorry guys new to the whole selling guns thing but do I need to be there at the police station to transfer the paper work to the new owner or can a bill of sale to that? I'm pretty sure I just wanna go down there myself but I just want to get all that information clarified just to be on the safe side.  Thanks for the info.

I'd do it at HPD and have the buyer meet you there with cash in hand.

Completing the transaction at HPD is not necessary.
Doing the sale and transfer at the same time confirms the buyer is registering the firearm.
