I updated my list again. I was at a store picking up my order and I saw a DPMS lower receiver kit so I picked it up. I swapped out for another barrel since this one is in stock. I also added the trigger guard and longer handguard. I still don't know what kind backup iron sights to choose and red dot.

yeah, its so that you can release the bolt by using you trigger finger/right hand. 

you might also want to take a look at the ar 15 anti walk trigger pins, there are a few on the market and since your building up your gun, its something else you can add on.  I've never had a problem with mines but I don't shoot thousands of rounds at a time where it might become a problem.


BTW: how did you decide on the HIPERTOUCH trigger?  have you felt it before on someone elses gun?  I'd be scare to throw 200 dollars on a trigger I have not felt before.

ahhh I see.  It is always good to be able to test a trigger out before sinking enough money to buy another 10/22 on a trigger you may not like.

I do like those barrels, they start off as Shilen blanks.  they are chambered for .223 though.  careful about using 5.56 in them.

you might wanna take a look at the vortex spac.  its only 130 bucks (was this price on sale at palmetto state armor last week) and it comes with life time warranty.  no it is not as well built or bullet proof as an aimpoint but are you going to war in the sandbox and need that type of ruggedness?  its 2moa and looks just like the aimpoint (just a hint darker though the glass but I doubt you will be able to tell or care outside).  the only crappy part is the nightvision mode which if you hit it, it looks like the red dot died on you (its so dark that you cant see it normally) and its easy to hit the button for it cuz its right there and big.  it does hold zero, works well, and the parallax is like 1 inch when your under 15-20 yards.  how often are you shooting at that distance and need pin point accuracy?  I'm pretty sure you can still hit a human target if its only 1 inch off if your way off to the side when looking though the glass.  It's pretty much on target if your cheek weld is on.  I mean a red dot is not really meant for precision.  its to shoot multiple human head sized targets quickly.  If you need that type of accuracy, get a scope!

If you do want the best, I'd go with the aimpoint.  if your going for fun and what works and what is affordable, I'd go with the sparc.  I mean you could build a back up/trunk ar15 for the price of the aimpoint.  Just saying...  Also, note the warranty on the aimpoint... •Includes limited manufacturer's warranties of two years for professional or competitive use, and ten years for personal or recreational use.  basically its 2 years warranty and if it dies, your shit out of luck!  You said you didn't wanna care/baby your gun and you were gonna throw it around in the dirt/ground.  Well if your gonna actually use your rifle and have fun with it, I'd go with something with life time warranty.  that is just me though, your millage may vary...
