I was there, two benches to the right of that yoyo. It was obnoxious, so I just left.
(The blast was shaking the reticle of my scope. And just as my hold was settling --I shoot offhand-- Ka-Blam! F-that-shiite. I ended up stepping back from the line til he was done, then try to get quick string in.)
As a side comment, my kid wanted to shoot with me too... Woke up asking if he could join me and use his rifle. He's just starting to move in to rimfire from air rifle so I took him down with a box of 22Shorts... But that blast would really rattle him, so he asked if we could go home. I'm just hoping he wants to go back and shoot again one day. Karl offered to give us back our range fee, but I told him to just apply it to their sodas and water fund.
I wish someone would set up a dedicated rimfire range, or specific (early morning?) rimfire hours so the folks who can shoot (and by "shoot" I mean actually hit the small ground targets and silhouettes figures vs "point and make noise") can shoot without the distraction of frustrated revolver/pistol folks slinking over from the pistol range, and trying to hit the steel barn door and dinner plates at Silly Side. Y'all know who you are.
Hee hee hee. ;-)
