Remington has announced a voluntary safety recall of Model 700 and Model Seven rifles with X-Mark Pro, or XMP triggers manufactured between May 1, 2006 and April 9, 2014.

Any rifles made after April 9, 2014 are not subject to recall.

Remington discovered that rifles equipped with the XMP trigger can fire unintentionally. This is very dangerous and potentially fatal if not addressed. This problem is specific to the XMP trigger only. All other Model 700 and Model Seven rifles are unaffected by this recall.

The cause of the problem is “excess bonding agent being applied in the assembly process,” not the trigger itself.

As fine arifle as it is,  issues with this firearms trigger have been known for over 50 yrs.  :grrr:

I have no idea. Got to wait until the instructions come in.

"Remington will send you pre-paid shipping tags, boxes and written instructions. Remington will cover all related shipping, inspection, and repair charges to your rifle. Please do not return your rifle to Remington before receiving the shipping tags, as the shipping tags will be marked to expedite delivery of your rifle to the specific Remington facility dedicated to this recall program".

I also asked them to reimburse my ammo (300 win mag) to re-zero the rifle. They said no problem.

In what means are they gonna reimburse your ammo? Write you a check? Supply the ammo?

Anyone got the shipping box yet?

Rem replied include everything to fire the rifle, stock, action, bolt and barrel.

I modified my trigger, hopefully they don't screw with it... Shit might be easier to install a timney....

I purchased mine earlier this year, probably on the recall list. Did my own work on my trigger. Did the bump test, safety on/off, bolt slam etc., all the required checks after doing a trigger adjustment like on the earlier m700 triggers. Didn't know about a recall until today, but read about problems about the m700 triggers from way back when. Do what you gotta do. I don't think I'll be sending mine back though.

My 700 is affected... Not going to send it in because I already swapped in a Timney a year ago...

Now to see if there is anything good I can buy with the 40% off coupon they gave me.
