Finally made it to the Clark County Shooting Complex (CCSP).   If you haven’t been do try to make it a stop during your next visit to the so called “9th Island”…

All I can say is WOW, it’s an amazing facility!!! I brought both my FNX & FNS with me on this visit and had a chance to shoot them at CCSP, it was nice to shoot at ranges less than 25 yds.   One can even do basic drills and draw from belt & drop holsters.   Another thing I noticed, no brass catchers/deflectors… And no one complains about being hit with brass.   In fact one doesn’t even need to pick up spent casings, there are range personnel sweeping everything into recessed areas.   The brass is collected & made available in a large bin.   Overall a great experience on a super nice range.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love KHSC and I’m happy we all still have a public range to shoot at.   It would be cool if KHSC took a few cues from CCSP to improve the experience for all of the shooters that utilize it (to include a nominal fee, CCSP charges $9.00).   It’s nice to see what can be achieved when both the community and city really get behind a range facility!

Nice pics!  It would really be nice to have closer targets like that on the pistol side.  Looks like a cool facility.

Very nice, this must be the place where the guys from Pawn Stars had their shooting competition.  I will try to make it here next time I'm in the 9th island, I love exploring new places.

Nice place.

If the place is empty, wear a holstered pistol for safety. also bring a buddy.
Friend almost got robbed there when he walked out to get a target on the Rifle side.

Not really sure. We were on the handgun/rifle 50 yard side, which seemed to be about 1/3rd of the overall range.   There's a 100 yard section and a 200 yard section as well.   We went mid-day on a Saturday and got a bench straight away, no wait.   If it's your first time shooting at CCSP you'll be required to watch a short safety vid before shooting.

Hey Dex you sure this is the same place??? Been to this range over ten times, also been the first one there in the morning on the rifle side and had to shoot with 5 RSO's standing around my bench cause no one else was there. Shot out to 200 yards and they took me on the ATV to place and get my targets, so I can't see someone trying to rob you while out on the range with all the RSO out there??

I totally love this range, you can shoot from 3, 5, 10, 15, 25 & 50 yards on the pistol side. You can also shoot rifle on the pistol side, I have done transitions with my AR slung and my pistol holstered. Most of the RO's are either retired/active LE and military, they even took the time to give give me pointers and help me out with my shooting.  Some days the range is open from 7am till 10pm and they also have a world class trap and skeet range located on the complex. They are also in the process of creating a 500 & 1200 yard rifle range. I would recommend this place to any firearms enthusiast that visits Las Vegas anytime  :shaka:

Check out their Master Plan for the Range - we can only wish we had something half as good in Hawaii  :(

I don't know but I have been going there since it opened in 2009 and most times by myself and usually when it opens and have shot till I was the last one leaving and never felt threatened  :-\

Also on yelp they only have 5 star reviews

Just watched this video of a tour of CCSP.  Been weighing the pros and cons of moving to Las Vegas and this is definitely a pro.

If I lived in Vegas I wouldn't even bother with the range. Just drive out to the desert.

True, that's what my friend that moved there a few months ago, does.  But after he saw the pics of CCSP he's gonna check it out.  For rifle and pistol, shooting in the desert is fine, but for trap and skeet I'd go to CCSP.
