Justifying the Danger of a "forward-leaning pistol grip" in NY (Read 5099 times)

My brain hurts when I listen to people like this, but I suppose I need to know how they justify their positions to deny the Second Amendment exists. I'd like to hear her comments on the relative dangers of backward-leaning, left-leaning, right-leaning, and forward-leaning pistol grips. She could probably publish the results in a medical journal concerned with the "public health" aspect of "gun violence". I'm sure she has lots of valid data to back up her assertions.

The New York "SAFE Act" bans pistol grips on "assault rifles", so manufacturers have designed one that meets the criteria established by the new law. Guess what, the gun banners still aren't happy. Who'd a thunk it?  :geekdanc:

"Leah Gunn Barrett, the executive director of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, said a forward-leaning pistol grip might give a mass shooter better control over his rifle.
.
"The gun is still lethal,” Gunn Barrett said. “Yes, it can still kill people. But it is not as easy to manipulate and fire accurately than [sic] it would be if you had a forward-leaning pistol grip."

(Includes a gun dealer firing both the legal and illegal weapons and achieving virtually identical groupings on paper targets.)

I heard that forward-leaning pistol grips are almost as dangerous as shoulder things that go up. Both should be banned.
I am not a lawyer.

I never did figure out what Rep. McCarthy, the sponsor of "assault weapons" banning legislation, was referring to as "the shoulder thing that goes up". Definitely not the "barrel shroud" that Tucker Carlson asked her about. The thing is, she never figured it out either. But she knew it needed to be banned.

Not that she will be replaced by anyone better for Second Amendment rights, but she has announced that she will not run for re-election this November.

Just as a further note on her character:

"McCarthy announced on June 3, 2013. that she has a treatable form of lung cancer. On November 8, 2013, it was reported that McCarthy was suing more than 70 companies of potentially causing the Long Island congresswoman to develop lung cancer from asbestos. In her lawsuit, she failed to mention that she has been an avid smoker for 40 years."

Apparently the aversion to knowledge and truthfulness runs deep.

This "better control" and "easy to manipulate and fire accurately" are exactly why law abiding citizens with a handicap or say suffering from arthritis can better enjoy the sport from products such as this; very narrow thinking on her part.

I'd go one step further and say ALL law abiding gun owners need as many accessories and cosmetic upgrades as they can get if they:

#1 - allow the good guys to more easily hit their target, and

#2 - avoid missing the target which could strike a bystander unintentionally.

Control, accuracy, and effectiveness should be at the top of everyone's requirement checklist for legal gun owners.  Why make things more difficult for the good guys when you KNOW the bad guys won't follow the law??!!
