You're gonna hack off the extended mag tube?

Millions of people. I'd say there are more standard tube 870s out there than extended.

100% of the replies to the "show off your 870" thread have an extended mag tube, makes it seem like a pretty popular option around here.

Most of the "tactical" 870's have extended mags.

The rest of the 870's out there (hunting, skeet, trap) don't usually have them.

Usually if you see a  870 with a wood stock, its got a standard magazine.

I love extended magazines, i've been considering this one...

Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

I have a 870 that I transformed over the years - folding stock, pistol grip, mag extension, side saddle shell carrier, ect. I found that all the combat cosplay stuff don't add much to the shootability. I use it in near stock condition other than plastic has replaced the wood and a large safety button and hiviz follower for mostly for hunting. If I'm hunting bird or pig, first round hits and safety are more important than looking cool.

If I'm hunting 2 legged varmints, I'd rather have a weapon with greater range and accuracy.

The 22 makes a lot of sense but I have to agree that you wont be able to walk around with it.
I'd probably choose the 9mm
or......
If I had quick access to a hacksaw, I might pick the shotty

But in all this mayhem if you cut off the BBL then the ATF will come after you and forget about the terrorists!

Aloha 2a...first post. Cool thread.

I agree with some of the aforementioned....I'd grab the Glock. Dependable, lots of ammo, concealable. My 2nd choice would be the 870 if I had a bug out spot that was sustainable where the only thing I had to worry about was getting found.  :shaka:

870 - pump action- makes your adversary thing twice, unless they are better armed.

870 boom... nice...

Dont know why peeps keep dismissing/trusting a a good auto .22...

A good round in an accurate semi -.22 is deadly... a double or triple tap.... shut the lights, shut the shades... good night Irene! JMHO.... :shake:
