Not so meaningless. Had the poll gone the other direction it would have been used as a propaganda leveraging tool. Silly as it may seem we have to challenge this little fights as well. It's more of a kill the pole thing I guess.

I imagine the networks use these little polls as "feelers".  If the results support the outcome they want, they are encouraged to do more polling, this time with independent, semi-scientific methods.  Then they will use those not-as-meaningless results to push their agenda.

Shutting these feelers down hopefully prevents them from taking that next step...
