I haven't been able to find who the other possible candidates are, but was curious as to what happened to the incumbent. It's Mark Takai, professional lifelong politician, now running for U.S. House of Representatives. Here's his view (

Really?! He wants to ban automatic weapons? Now there's a "common sense gun safety regulation" solution to a non-existent problem!
