Curios & Relics

Been thinking about getting the Curios & Relics license.  What are the steps and the required paperwork?

Go to that link, and fill out both PDF files. The application has two versions (copies) in the first file.

Once filled out, send copy 1 of file 1 (ATF version), file 2, and a $30 check to the ATF.

Then, send copy 2 of file 1 (CLEO version) to your local Chief Of Law Enforcement. I sent mine to the HPD chief's address.

Then wait a month or three.  Mine took about two months. 

The ATF site has FAQ pages for more info.  And the PDF files have instructions following each form with what to do with them.

Only worth if you plan on bringing more than a few guns in the next 3 years.  But having it will get u a discount at a few online gun shops that are ffl only.

Additionally, some states have easier CHL/CCW issuing guidelines for FFL holders.  They figure if you're good enough for the ATF, you're good enough for them!   :shaka:
