7.62x39 Bolt Action Rifle of any type
« on: June 18, 2014, 07:44:40 PM »
Has any one on this forum have any personal thoughts of these guns or experience. I have seen the various youtube videos and online reviews but just curious what folk around here think about them. I am a big fan of the cartridge because its cheap like me cheap.

I use a adapter in my rem 700 308.  I get under 1" groups using silver bear soft points.  I just bought a $300 Savage Axis 308 to do the same thing.  The adapter is $30 and can be taken out with a broken shell extractor and reused.  There is also a 30-06 adapter.  I don't use FMJ's because they are normally steel copper plated bullets.

I looked at and wouldn't mind a CZ 527 in 7.62x39 in the future sometime. It seems like a good value and I have another rifle in that caliber already for commonality. There are other guns that I would like to get first though.

Cz makes probably the best one.  Czs a very accurate and reliable.   Ive handled it many occasions but have yet to fire it.  Zastava makes a copy for about half tbe price of the cz.  The zastava will shoot well, not as accurate as the cz.  The zatava also is not finished to the level as the cz.  If im not mistaken ruger made a short lived model in that caliber as well.

Its a accurate 30-30 lever action alternative

The cz are becoming more and more rare grab one if its near $600

I like this right here because this allows many options and Savage makes great stuff for the money. Does the adapter make the gun into a single round shooting savage or will 7.62 by 39 fit into the 308 box magazine im not to familiar with the cartridge size of 308 I have not done any research on it yet. either way single round is fine by me.

I am looking at this now Boss thanks. It does not have scary shrouds and pistol grips and bayonet mouting hardware on it. So it must be safer and less lethal.  :geekdanc:
