Just in case anyone is interested. There's a  rodeo on Oahu after more than a decade of not having one. Took the family today and if you are interested, tomorrow Saturday is the last day of the event.

New Town and Country Ranch

Here's info about the event.

Is there concessions, or did anyone bring in their own coolers?

No outside food --  There is a $25 entrance fee for adults and a $5-10 fee for kids.  They have food booths there ... hotdogs, pizza, corn, beer.  A couple of platelunch concession stands.

Free parking and overflow parking at the golf course.  I think evenings are a good time to go since it won't be so hot.

Lots of people on horses and cowboy gear.  Men and women cowboys.  Mainland cowboys and Hawaiian paniolos.  Lots of spectators were also in partial cowboy attire. I thought I was in Texas when I was there.

They did a really nice tribute for the US and armed forces when they opened last night's show... the kind of stuff you would be proud to take your children to.  Their rodeo clown did a great job.  The sound system was terrific.  I took a short video of the opening but don't want to post it as it may dilute what they do there.

The facility looks really nice. My wife said the bathrooms are clean.  There is a horse petting section for the kids.  The place looks clean and the owners did a great job preparing for the rodeo.

The last show tonight starts at 7:00pm tonight.

Last night, it was keiki barrel, wahine barrel and team roping.  I'm not sure what event they had for their 1pm show this afternoon or tonight's 7pm show.  I didn't stay too late but I heard the event ended around 9 or 10pm.

I appreciate the info.  Took the family last night and besides a downpour that lasted only long enough to soak everyone, it was a good time.  Full crowd, good family fun.  Hope they can get it going again to become a regular event.

Cool -- I'm glad you and the family got to see it, Surf.  The event was something special and was worth sharing here. Yes I also hope it becomes a regular event for Oahu.
