Chicago's 4th of July Weekend Shootings
« on: July 07, 2014, 12:31:27 PM »
CNN reporting 60 people shot and 9 killed. Other news are reporting 82 people shot and 14 killed. Aren't guns banned in Chicago?

Google it cause every question is a dumb question.

Only for law abiding citizens. 16 year old gang members are apparently exempt.  :wtf:

I think they counted the people that were shot by law enforcement as well.

I saw a story on Yahoo that said a guy defended himself and his friends with his concealed handgun.  But it was buried way below the above story.  It stated that had the incident happened a year earlier, the guy and his friends wouldn't have been able to defend themselves.  Funny it does not get the same attention as the above.
It is what it is.

Here's the story: http://gunssavelives.net/self-defense/concealed-carrier-in-chicago-stops-possible-mass-shooting-outside-of-party/

Notice that it got no mention in the press, but was almost certainly included in the numbers of individuals shot.....

This was a quote from the Police Superintendent. The gangs do not fear the law or punishment.

"McCarthy said his officers are seeing more suspects who are reluctant to throw down their guns when confronted by police because they're more concerned with harsh treatment from their gangs if they lose their weapons than the legal system if they are arrested with them."
