Live @ the silhouette range since rifle range is limited to 100 yards. Still gotta go fling lead on rifle side. Love to hunt Maui, Up country or Kaupo side. Only hunted with my M82 on Lanai & Big Island for Mouflon. Sooo Good fun...

Yup that's me.... boy did  HHAA do a great job yesterday and had a wonderful shoot. Had fun shooting my safari rifles and my Lone Eagle 308 pistol. Then went and shot steel @ silhouette. Buddy Dennis steel target needs to be replaced... got too beat up on a previous shoot. Ordering some new steel, ear cracked off  beside being drilled and pitted. 338 and 300 mags really punish plates, don't shoot Barnes either will make plated pukas..  ouch... lol 
What were you shooting? Ruger #1 ? Was that your family  too?

I was only shooting video yesterday.
I was taking pix of the fun shoot to edit a video for the club website.
Then I noticed the unusual 308 pistol having some misfire troubles.

El cheapo me using free range brass....
Never learn that's one of the reason pistol ain't a 30-06 no mo.
Kills suspend golf balls pretty  good thou... lol

oh, it was bad luck, not saying he shot him on purpose.  some guy had a target at 50 yards and the bird chilling was behind the target.


the ROs called him out on it on the intercom though and they called an early cease fire to go pick up the corpse.

It is a protected species here in Hawaii. Even though there are billions of them all over the world. One RO who is no longer with us told me the fine for killing one is $500. He told me that at the same time my wife was still shooting the corpse of one she had killed about 30 seconds before. The bird had walked behind her target and she didn't even know it. She kept shooting her target and the corpse kept jumping with each shot.

Yes, strangely enough it is. But protected is not the same as endangered.
In fact they do endanger real endangered species here.
Us fish and wildlife researchers have requested controlled eradication of the cattle egrets.
USFWS is a little schizophrenic in this matter.
