This was some factory load 30.06 that was defective.

Went to Hilo for work and go to Mile Marker 16 to shoot.   Well guess someone took my target stands at work or threw them away.

Beautiful day there with just one other group shooting.

Improvised with some boxes.





Last time they turned my target stands into a table.

Perhaps if you shot a few holes in the table-target stand they wouldn't have upcycled it.

I would have just reclaimed the table and used it as my target stand.  It'll be about like the stand he wound up using -- cardboard on top to support the target.

I would have made sure to hit the wooden stand a few times before returning it to the office.

Once the others see the bullet holes, i doubt anyone will want to say anything negative about using that "table".   

In fact, you might find they are eager to return the stand with their apologies!

Another idea....
Take back your wood table-stand and put the printer on a cardboard box.

I'll pound some nails through so they're sticking out all over.

Went to KHSC to take pics of the range, but gate was still closed with a line of cars behind.  Turned around by the archery range and got a flat tire.  Right in the corner of the tread and sidewall.  Dang it.  Waiting for the tow.

Interesting that KHSC, designated a park under PARKS and RECREATION, would be closed on Holidays.

My guess is "they" don't want us to practice.

I saw a lot of my old shooting buddies at the gun show last week. A lot of them don't go out to shoot any more. I  told them....
USE IT OR LOSE IT

Common sense, right? The city has to PAY for about a half dozen guys to open the range.
The city will adjust facilities to meet public demand.
Eg. Pickleball!!!

Yes, it's true that khsc is under parks&rec, but it's not like other regular parks. It's a really unique facility.

Oh BTW, I did go practice today but arthritis is starting to affect me....sucks to get old.
I did take the dirty Harry gun and had fun letting other people enjoy the thrill.

Totally understand the use it or lose it example.  For some people, the only time they can use it is on Holidays because of work.  That one little option would be a deal breaker for some people who need their regular days off to tend to family matters.  (if they even have those days off at all.  Many work more than one job.)

In my particular case it would give me a better chance to go out to shoot.  I could go to the range on weekends however it has to compete with unfinished chores and other matters left unattended during the week when wife and I baby sit the grandson and great-grandson.

My daughter and grandaughter, as teachers, get practically all the Holidays off.....   So it would be a play day for me.
