What was the first gun you ever bought for yourself and how old were you when you bought it?

My first was a Glock 23. Not the best beginner gun but it was mine and it is still a favorite. What was yours?

My first gun I ever bought was a Remington 12 gauge shotgun.

I bought it when I was 18 years old.

My experiences with guns started early and I had several before I was actually legal to own, they were given.

First gun was a Winchester single shot break action .410, given to me by my Dad as given to him by his.  Shot my first squirrel with that gun, followed by everything that moved. :D I was 8.  Next was a 1903 Springfield in 30-06. @! 12 years old.  Next was a Remington pump action 20 gauge. This was followed shortly by a Browning side by side hammered 12 gauge @ ~13. My latest gift from Dad was a Browning B-71 in 7MM when I was 24. I had the spare barrel re-chambered in 7MM Shooting Times Westerner (7MM STW) and put a muzzle brake on it (kicks rather roughly). Bad @ss single shot that shoots very flat and very far. Hard to find ammo.

First gun I ever bought on my own -- Glock 23 @ 21 years old, right here on the island. I think the place was called Wild West at the time..it has been forever, so don't quote me. Some crazy lady worked there.
Relax, I've banned myself..

Debbie was the owner.
She was super nice.

Got a Ruger 10/22 rifle for my ninth or tenth birthday, which was followed by a Savage .243 bolt action rifle for Christmas when I was about 11-1/2.  (Needed it for hunting season the next year, 12 being legal to hunt in Montana.)  Then I got a Ruger 22/45 pistol when I was 15 or 16, bought my Mossberg 835 in 12ga. when I was 18, and had my dad pay for a Beretta Cougar with my money when I was 20.  Still have them all, and looking at an AR now.  The 10/22 rifle underwent significant upgrades when I was a junior or senior in high school, with a stainless steel match grade heavy barrel, and a thumb-hole stock, both from Midway.  That thing will shoot the balls off a gnat!  (Inside 50 yards or so!  :D)

There's a gnat in my house.

If you could shoot off his left nut, I'd be willing to pay you.

Ha ha, we'll see what I can do if I ever get it brought back out here from home.  Gnat Assassins, Inc recommends obtaining your significant other's permission prior to conducting live-fire, anti-gnat operations inside a dwelling.

Pops bought me a .22 when I was 7-8ish. I only had the chance to shoot it once. About 8 years ago I bought a mossberg .22 from my wife's uncle, but never touched it. Then about 2 years ago I finally (leagly) owned my first a, G22.
After a while and some work I was able to figure out how to get that mossberg registered to me.  ;D  and I finally took it out and I love it.

A Mauser K98 factory code 27 from 1939...made the dumb mistake of selling it to fund another gun. Would like to have kept my K98.

That's a heck of a first gun.
I had been issued a Colt M16A2 Government model from the years 1994-2004 in the Marine Corps so I never felt the need to buy one before.  I guess I knew what I wanted now.   ;D  However I'm a recent convert of the AK47 religion.
