Red dot w/ RBUS

The red dot, or any illuminated reticule really, has always been fuzzy for me.  Not super bad but a 2MOA dot looks more like a fuzzy 4MOA dot to me.  Read somewhere that if you put up your rear backup sight, it becomes clear.  Tried it and what do you know, the dot is crisp now.  I'm not really sure what sort of eye issue this is from (I'm thinking maybe astigmatism) but if you have the same issue, give it a try.

Maybe this is common knowledge, I'm a relatively new shooter, just figured it might help someone out.

This forum thread has some good info about using co-witnessed BUIS with red dot sights to reduce that blurriness caused by astigmatism.

are you looking at the red dot or at your target? Have you tried adjusting the brightness? Have you tried looking at Eotechs? Those are crystal clear even more than Aimpoints.
Google it cause every question is a dumb question.

Doesn't matter, one eye open, both eyes open, it's not the optic it's your eye's astigmatism (if you have one).

What it probably is, is that when you look directly at the red digit will look blurry, because of the focal point of the dot.  It's meant for you to look down range and place the dot on that point/target.  Go between the two, focusing between the dot itself and looking at a point down range beyond the dot; you'll probably notice the change.

Just my input since it happened to me before.

I know about the eye problems. Just making sure it's not a simple problem. Other things I didn't mention is dominant eye vs weak eye. My right eye is not the dominant so it looks a little blurry at first but goes away. The other was the targets were too close up. It was very blurry I thought it was broken. I was looking at things about 15ft away inside my house with my Eotech. Aimpoint looked fine.
