BREAKING: Obama Administration Bans Import of Izhmash & Kalashnikov (Saiga) Fire (Read 23250 times)

Looks like expanded sanctions to a couple banks, energy companies, and weapons manufacturers.

OldFaithful

It's BS.  For those wondering and don't wanna read much on sites, it bans the saiga and other ak's from Russia.  So those ak's built on saiga receivers are no more.  No more veprs either.

Ak's from other countries like Bulgaria (Arsenal), yugo aks, etc are still fine for now.

I'm assuming since FIME group who makes the sgl series now goes under since they get their receivers from Russia?

I keep hoping these idiots will "punish" us by leaving. Guess I have a better chance of finding a rainbow unicorn.

Waiting for ridiculously overpriced AKs to start appearing on Armslist and Gun Broker.

everyone;\'s going to panic that if o'bama is willing to make an EO to ban AKs, he may do one to ban assault weapons and assault magazines

Slr's are made from Bulgarian parts so they're still importable.

So, where are our fellow 2a members that voted for this clown not once but twice? I'd like to thank for your shortsightedness and lack of intelligence.

Oh, but I'm sure Romney would've been so much worse, right?  ::)

As far as I know its just Russian (Izmash/Molot/VEPR/SAIGA, etc) not Bulgarian.  All the distributors are already sold out of Arsenal SGL, Saiga models and anything IZMASH based like some of the century rifles.

They weren't particularly easy to get even before this (russian variants that is)

Crap!!!  I should have bought the couple of VEPRs I seen for sale a month or so ago.

This is going to be just like cuban cigars, you're going to need to buy the dominican republic bulgarian version instead of the cuban russian.

stangzilla

Cuban cigars aren't too hard to find.   ;)

but i get your drift.

If that 777 was shot down by a BUK SAM provided to Russian separatists, this might only be the beginning.....

Prayers to the family of the near 300 lost.

Damn, there goes my chance of  getting a Saiga 12 at a reasonable price......

Some say we will never get it back after a ban is in place but at one point in time we were in a cold war with them
Not long ago. So do you all feel like it will never return to back to business as usual eventually.  Or not in our lifetime?   >:(
