Here is a spreadsheet combining both HRA and NRA candidate ratings.

Thanks!

Ballots came in the mail yesterday.

I am wondering on you all's position, that Ige, rated B, is a better candidate, than Aiona who has been rated C?  Thoughts?

My dad has known Ige for decades and says he is a man of his word.  The 2A score was just gravy for me, he has my vote for both elections.

That's good to hear, s197.  I find it good to know that not all (D) politicians in our state are necessarily gun grabbers.  Yes, I have a favorable impression of David Ige actually.

But just a question... what promises has he made and to whom?

A good question.  I can't answer all of it but I think this webpage spells out a good amount:

What my fear is, knowing voters in Hawaii, nothing much will change.  This in regards to other issues. Therefore, I felt that a more pro 2a democrat just might be a better choice for moving forward on the recovery of our rights, then that of a moderate republican candidate (republican lite).

However, on many other issues I really don't agree his plan is going to do much to make Hawaii a better place.

Not sure why he has no rating, but I believe that Higa (dist 19) supports your 2A rights.

Statement he gave me specifically for 2AHawaii...
Quote
I am pro 2nd Amendment. If a person commits a crime with a gun that doesn't mean you punish everyone else. The 2nd Amendment is not for hunting, it's for tyranny.  Law abiding residents have a right to defend themselves with a gun if necessary but that doesn't mean I endorse violence.  Re: mass shootings, those people showed signs of being a danger to themselves and others. Therefor, they should have been committed to a psychiatric facility.

I updated the spreadsheet to note Anthony Higa's 2A statement.  Lmk if there are any more legit updates on the candidates.

Because he didn't fill out the HRA survey and he has no history on which to base a performance grade....both of which is really sad as he sounds like he would have gotten a good "grade"

Spreadsheet updated again to include VoteSmart 2010 NRA rating.  Also added in party affiliation for all candidates.

It was interesting to see some candidates that were marked A in 2010 that are now marked Fs.  (ex Tulsi, Cabanilla, Mizuno, Rhoads)

Tulsi and Cabanilla likely paraded their military "experience" which probably got them the NRA A rating before.  Shows that even this rating system is not perfect and / or that candidates mislead others on their 2A positions.

Highlighted the A's in GREEN and the F's in RED.  The rest, no highlights.

If anyone has suggestions on making the spreadsheet easier to view, let me know.
