It's close to dollar a shot. Mine stays in the safe and only comes out on special occasions.

Sports authority had some whinchester soft point. I think it was between $40-45 box of 50. Crazy. I shoot my ruger 92 and super blackhawk all the time. I reload at it cost around $0.20 a round. Defiantly worth reloading.

Much as I have regretted selling my .44 mag pistolss before moving here, have to admit never really looked at ammo prices since then either.

Kept my .44 ammo, just in case I find a Super Blackhawk in the meantime that needs a new home.  I do miss my old one, had done the complete trigger job, trigger stop and all on it.

I recently inherited a Super Blackhawk that my grandfather used as a backup for bear hunting in Alaska and picked up some American Eagle at J. Hara's last sale. Been preoccupied with my AK build, but now it's time to go down to the range and empty out some brass so I can try reloading it. With the prices right now it's pretty much required.
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

I dunno about 20 cents bro.
For full power jhp reload, I think about 40 cents is more like it.
But it's still half the cost of factory.

I use lead bulliets with a light loads that's the only way I can shoot 100 rounds a session. If not I'd be broke.

Das what I figured you meant.
On the other hand, with a decent 240 gr hard cast, well lubed bullet over 19 gr of H110, you can get that magnum feel without the magnum cost.
It works best with a classic keith swc. Nice blast, kick, and accurate too.
Cast your own bullet and the cost drops to $7 per box of 50. More labor tho...

Hese's a good example.  We just got three cases of 44 Mag in,  HPR 240GR, TMJ High Performance, 50 end boxes.

Our dealer cost is $41.09, we pay about $8/case shipping these days so .40/box freight and we cost out infrastructure (cost to order, receive delivery, check in and shelf) of .50/box

So we are into each box for $41.99 and we sell for $49.  A margin of 14.31%.  If you are retail model aware you know a business can barely survive at that margin!

Some of this "commodity" market is really skewed at the Manufacturer and Distributor!
