Pelican case questions
« on: August 24, 2014, 01:35:28 PM »
I'm looking for a case to travel with and have some questions. The Pelican 1750 has interior dimensions at 50.5 inches long. My rifle is 48.5, leaving only one inch of cushion at each end.
Is that case long enough? Will the sandwiching effect keep the rifle from moving end to end? Or do i need the cushion provided by a longer case? It's a 200 dollar difference between the
1750 and the 1770, so i'm hoping i can use the shorter case.

I have the 1770 and it is a very large and heavy case. Although it has wheels and front pull handles, it does not have a side carry handle. May not seem like a big deal until you try and pick it up to put in the car or move it around the house. Don't get me wrong, it is a very good case which will hold quite a bit, but it can/will get over weight very quickly and easily, keep that in mind when flying

Where are you located? I have a couple 1750 cases if you want to see if it'll work for you.

Thanks for all the info. I just ordered the 1750.
Guess if i need to, i could set the rifle in there
Diagonally giving me more room at both ends.
