Loose bolt lever American Ruger
« on: September 07, 2014, 07:53:13 AM »
Good Morning all,
I'm researching an issue with an American Ruger rifle in a 30-06 bolt action. The problem is the bolt and lever is very loose when a cartridge is chambered or not.  Unchambered, I can shake the rifle and the bolt will move up to block the trigger. What keeps tension of the bolt?

Thanks in advance.

Call ruger they are super helpful.   If there is alot of slop in the action the gun could be unsafe.  Im sure ruger will address the issue under warranty.   They are usually very helpful when it comes to it.
Have u stripped the bolt down by chance?  The lugs should be cast into the bolt body itself and should not be adjustable.  Nor could they be easily become worn down over time.
