Ok just want to release some information on the October Hdf range day. The subject matter is going to be shot guns. This is the first time that HDF is presenting this session. Attendees will be limited in size. Equipment guidelines a shot gun either pump or semi only. It will need to hold 6 shells. (If it doesn't? A tube extender may be needed) you will also need a shell holder that holds 10 shells ie... belt/ side saddle/ bandolier/ pouch. Round count will be something like 100 00buck /100 slugs / 200 bird no larger 7 1/2 Its going to be a 6hour session so be prepared to work . That should get you started for now
some clarifications to DL's post:
the october range day will be a new one for the HDF
we are going to hold a shotgun class
due to the nature of the firearms system, and the fact that for almost every attendee will not be that familiar with running a shotgun in this manner, we are going to strictly limit the class size and the class will be longer
and, in turn, we will also be increasing the range fee for this session only
you will need a pump or semi shotgun that can hold 6 rounds or more (1 in chamber, at least 5 in tube/magazine)
no single shot or over/unders allowed
you must have the ability to carry 10 rounds on the firearm or on your person (side saddle, speedfeed, etc on firearm or belt/bandolier/pouch/etc on your body)
approximate round count is 30 slugs 20 rounds 00 buckshot, and 200 rounds birdshot (#7 or smaller)
long pants and covered shoes are REQUIRED
some people will be more comfortable wearing gloves of some type
slings are optional, not required
signups will be the standard 2nd saturday of the month 8 am
please ask any questions you have now so we can all be on the same page
have a great weekend, everyone
