With all the wins by Republicans of previously Democratic held Senate seats, state governorships, and some House seats, it pretty much leaves Hawaii as the second most "progressive" state after California. Lucky us.

I noticed that the only remaining jurisdiction in the U.S. besides Hawaii having a "no issue" CCW policy, Washington D.C., legalized marijuana by a 69% to 31% margin. That makes Hawaii the worst of both worlds. Lucky us.

I hear ya...
I don't know what we are "progressing" to but with all these progressive issues i.e. gender equality (I don't know what to call a man or woman nowadayz), drug legalization, 2a issues we are "progressing" away from what this country was built on. :grrr:

While I am pretty cynical about politics here in Hawaii, with our overwhelming Democratic populace, the fact remains that the Republican Party here is in dire need of some new ideas. Running Cam Cavasso against Schatz was a joke.

Oh, come on now. Don't exaggerate. All those Democrats that "we" sent to D.C. were all BIG supporters of Obamacare and "Assault Weapons"/"high capacity" magazine Bans. They're doing something... much to our regret. Thankfully there were enough rational Senators and Representatives from other states that were capable of using critical thinking skills and voted against the useless but liberty-infringing anti-firearm anti-self-defense legislation that "our" Hawaii legislators are so proud to trumpet.

We need to have the ability to opt out of political mailings like we can with credit cards. Some of the ads I received were larger in size than a full sheet of paper which sucks when you live in a condo.
