Comely California Attorney General Kamala Harris has just lost another 2A battle in California. The Eastern District Court has ruled that her request of a stay on Silvester v Harris – ditching the 10-day waiting period for handgun purchases for buyers who’ve already passed a background check – shall not be granted.

how about ditching the handgun waiting period if you already own over 10 or 20 handguns and even more rifles?  I mean seriously, what is a 2 weeks wait gonna do when you already have regged over 20 handguns?

It really makes no sense.  Libs love to say this 14 day waiting period saves lives with the "cooling off" period.  That only works if you don't already have guns in the house.  Just dumb for repeat acquisitions.

Fixed it!   

There have been no studies done which can prove the waiting periods actually allow anyone time to "cool off."  Adam Lanza is a perfect example.  He tried to apply for a permit to buy his own gun.  When he didn't want to wait the necessary number of days, he chose plan B:  steal what he needed from his mother.

There are always alternatives if you aren't concerned with obeying the law.  Criminals like this are precisely the kind of people this type of feel-good, do-nothing law is designed to deter!  As we have seen, these laws are impotent.

I have never seen such bureaucratic crap. A year to slow the system down and turn it around and reprogram the computers?

The legislative season is coming up in January.  Now should be the time to contact your local representative to try and get the law amended.  Getting rid of the 10 day waiting period for prior firearm owners makes sense.  Maybe make it like the long gun permit where it's good for a year, and get rid of the waiting periods for both.  Would help HPD and the gun store with having to do less paperwork and less resources, and help us save time and the extra trips.
