20db is significant.  For gun fire, every 6db is a doubling of loudness.  So going from 146 to 126db is about 1/10th as loud.  Or vice versa, going from 126 to 146 is 10x as loud.

I hope they are successful and get that range built before I move back there. I would hate to get into my retirement and not have a place to shoot.

dB is a log scale.  10 dB means upping by a factor of 10.  So doubling is actually more like 3 dB.
