Scar 17 question
« on: February 16, 2015, 01:17:34 PM »
So I'm buying a scar 17 from this dude in the mainland in a couple days, thing is, is that this guy says it has a 20 inch barrel on it. And to the best of my knowledge no scar 17's have 20 inch barrels....right? so is this dude feeding me a bunch of horse shit or do 17's with 20 inch barrels actually exist? Thanks!! :shaka: :shaka:
I sure as hell don't need a permit to choose my religion, so why the hell do I need a permit to acquire a firearm?

They exist, but nobody likes them.

You can change that ridiculous barrel but scar barrels are made out of gold so it will cost you.

I have a friend that SBR'd his SCAR.

I'm not 100% sure but I think he paid $1100 for the barrel and $200 for the tax stamp.

The 17L 20" (barrel length is the only difference) certainly does exist even if it's a little rare.

The challenge is that most shooters found the 16 inch version to be more accurate.  Maybe due to the piston system or barrel harmonics, who knows?

We all have a tendency to think of longer barrels as being more accurate, this isn't always the case.  I know that I've been guilty of thinking that a longer bull barrel had to be more accurate than a standard profile 16", not always the case!   In almost every case, however, the velocity is higher from a longer barrel with some few exceptions.

Well I called them and asked what it really was and now they say it's the 18 inch version! Haha. I'd be fine with the 18 inch version though! I fly out tommorow and pick it up, can't wait to take this bad boy out to the range. Thanks for all the info guys I appreciate it :D

Buy once, cry once.

It's better to spend the money and get a firearm that will work, and work well than to buy a bunch of crap guns.

I did the math and it's suppose to come out a little over $3000.  Why $3200 did you buy other stuff?

Oh yeah. I went on presidents day for the sale plus no CC fee. Walked out with it for about $2850. Not bad. if they didn't have that sale I probably wouldn't have bought it but still worth every penny!
