Are the gun shows out here pretty good? I have duty this Saturday but if it's worth it I might pass on sleeping in on Sunday and check it out!
...
It's not like mainland gun shows. Much smaller in size.
Take into consideration the small population base and geographical isolation.
On the con us you would have interstate vendors driving over on trucks with stuff.
Obviously you're not getting that here.
Just keep that in mind if you decide to go, then you won't be disappointed.

Thank the police officers at the gun show providing the 24 hour security.  They are doing it as a volunteer service and do not get paid.
The more volunteering like that the better chances to move up in position

From my experience, after attending the HHAA gun show for years with a few manning the Puuloa table; the gun show doesn't always have competitive prices. Some established shops have good deals on ammo and certain items (Hats off to XRing for their deals on magazines ) but most individual vendors don't have items that are priced competitively online - some of them still are in the mindset of the "Obama craze" we had a few years ago. I think its a great place to meet other firearms enthusiasts.
There are a few deals to be had, maybe a few items that may peak your interest. Of course, what I buy/have interest in is different than anyone else. I have the old Spock saying in my Chinese mind that: "The pleasure of wanting is not the same as the pleasure of having". The pleasure I find is placing all my shots in the X.
It's also interesting to watch the market dynamics of the gun show - vendors buying and selling from each other...rather amusing

Is there a trick to getting the fit right? Wife works for a dentist so she made her own but she says the noise reduction isn't very good.

The HPD guys at the show are gun people.  The 24/7 special duty is volunteer and registered as such.  Just shows how negative some people look at all HPD or officers in general.

i just mixed it and put it in place
i filled up the whole lower section of my ear

i always use plugs and muffs, so if they are not as effective as foamies, maybe i just can't tell

if you're at the gun show, pass by the hdf booth and we'll try making some for you

Yeah when she uses plugs and ear muffs they work well since they're low profile. Maybe that's the solution, hers go pretty far down the ear canal.

Phil bring whatever changes you wanted and come see us. We make it however you like... I would suggest bring a string or cord to embed into ear piece so yo can hang around your neck when you take out of you ear.

Cool.  I was going to get another pair and just mod these myself (oh no look out he's got a dremel!).  What I want is lower profile so work better in concert with headphones.  Like my originals :)  Ain't never going to get rid of them so comfortable but they are shrinking. Nice idea to add tether.  I will see the HDF booth!

It looks like hawaii law allows firearms to be transported to a gun show.  If I want to stop there on my way to kokohead, do I need to leave the guns in my car?  I feEl better if they were in my bag (cased and locked) while I walked so they are never unattended.  However I don't want a felony.  What is allowed and what do you do?

Bring them in, declare at entry with officer who will out a tie strap thru the action to "disable "  the fire arm.
May be possible to leave firearms at booth if you know who's behind it (at least your long gun).

Several years ago I was lugging 3 firearms and ammo (before shopping) in a backpack  thru the building.
Sore back by the end of the journey.  :shake:
