I saw this in the HRA Newsletter. Has anyone ever entered this? The entry is pretty steep, but tax deductable and they supply all the guns and ammo.
On Saturday, October 22, 2011 the Boy Scouts of America will be
putting on it 8th Annual SPORTSMAN'S CHALLENGE at Camp
Pupukea, Oahu. The event will feature .22 pistol shooting, .22 rifle
shooting, air riflery, shotgun on flying clay targets, archery, knife
throwing, tomahawk throwing, and spear throwing. The event is setup
for four man teams. Awards are presented to the top teams and the top
individual participants. The event starts at 7:00 A.M. on Saturday
morning and is usually completed by about 1:30 P.M. Breakfast and
lunch are included along with all equipment and ammunition.
The entrance fees are as follows:
Platinum Eagle: $ 5,000 for TWO four man teams
Title sponsor: $ 2,500
Distinguished Eagle: $ 2,000 for ONE four man team.
Eagle: $ 1,000 for ONE four man team.
This event is to support and promote the "SCOUTREACH"
program which is to dedicated to make sure that all young people have
an opportunity to join Scouting, regardless of their circumstances,
neighborhood, or ethnic background.
This is a tax deductible donation, except for $ 50 per team
member.
