Sitting on the chairs against the wall.  Guy is at the table with plastic shopping bag, pulls out gun drops mag and racks out a round before placing under the window.  his back was to the window so they never see nothing.  I was just glad not to be statistic of an ND.

I once saw people registering guns to own when its pretty clearly an infringement on their rights and so stupid that even the federal government is banned from doing it.

Standing in line facing the Firearms Registration door.  I hear someone walk in the entrance door, and stops at the Records Office, and say.....Is this where I register for a sex offender?

Of course I wanted to turn around and look.  I had the urge not to.  LMAO.

One time I heard someone not getting med clearance.  Guy became slightly irate and the rest of room began taking defensive postures lol   He left in a huff without incident or paperwork.

They don't call you ahead of time?  Seems like a poor way to treat the public if they wait for you to show up expecting a permit to be ready!

I guess I tend to bring in interesting guns to register (like my Springfield M6 Scout/Pilot Survival Rifle/Shotgun), since about half the time, an officer takes my guns back into the office to show off to the guys who aren't working at the window.

When I was registering my Century VZ-58 with the "beaver barf" (Bakelite with wood chips to reduce weight) furniture, the local Japanese-looking officer behind the window asked me what type of wood it was since he couldn't figure it out!

Another time, I saw a newly transplanted military guy come in with about 10-12 rifles in a bundle wrapped in a blanket. I was talking to him about Hawaii's transport laws, and he told me that he called HPD and they gave him the ok to bring the guns in that way.

Maybe they just get tired of seeing hundreds of ARs and Glocks all day, every day. :P

The guys and girls that work back there are definitely gun people. Something unusual or particularly nice will generally generate interest. When I got my Saiga 12 my son picked it up for me and I registered it when my permit came in { yes, it was done legally }. Since it was around the house, I had a chance to modify it with quad rails, breacher brake, collapsible stock, etc. { yes, 922r compliant } It must have been one of the first that they'd seen like that because they asked me if it was OK to check it out and passed it around the room for 15-20 minutes.

When I brought in my C&R guns for registration one of them came over and engaged me in conversation wanting to know certain details about them. Including what I paid for them. He wrote down the names and website addresses of the of the suppliers. He was well informed about the CMP as well. That has never happened to me before.
