I was just informed that the event was captured on camera and that the license plate of the vehicle was visible on the recording. Hopefully he vehicle is registered  and they capture the perps and get the guns returned.

Two long gun hard cases filled with five guns were stolen at about 5pm Sunday March 22, 2015 just after the gun show. The owner was in the process of loading his vehicle. The theft occurred in the NBC parking lot first floor inside lane near the pedestrian walkway and stairway to the upper deck.

The stolen guns are:

1.  TTN, 12 Gauge double barrel shotgun with hammers. Modern reproduction that has been "antiqued", 20" bbl. SN P05807.

2.  Uberti Model1866 "Yellow Boy" lever action carbine, .45 Colt. Modern reproduction that has been "antiqued". Bass not shined. 19" barrel finish made worn. SN 96209

3.  1863 Remington "Zouave", .58 cal muzzle loader, 33" bbl. An old antique

4.  Remington Jenks Navy Carbine, with Maynard primer, .54 cal. 24 1/4" bbl. An old antique

5.  Warner solid frame revolving rifle, made in the1850's, .40 cal, 26" bbl. Have to push the forward trigger to revolve the cylinder. An old antique SN 249

The firearms were in two hard, black long rifle cases. One case has a Navy sticker with the owner's stenciled on it and the other case has a SASS logo sticker and "Stone Deaf" label.

Those guns are so old, they're not even considered firearms anymore.

He will not do any time.

He will be charged with disturbing ancient artifacts, a misdemeanor.

Quote
Act 289, Session Laws 1992, amended §§708-830.5 and 831 by upgrading the offense of theft of a firearm, dynamite, or other explosive from a class C to a class B felony. The legislature felt that the serious and hazardous nature of firearm thefts and thefts of dynamite and other explosives justified the upgrade in the penalty and classification. Conference Committee Report No. 52. - See more at: http://codes.lp.findlaw.com/histatutes/5/37/708/IV/708-833#sthash.piXA6ZI3.dpuf

I think other charges depend on whether the perp/s can possess a firearm legally at all.  If not, there are other felonies they can be looking at.

Doesn't look good for them at all        :geekdanc:

Good News:  NBC had a good video; got the licenses number and have already recovered the guns and returned them to the owner.
Fastest recovery I have ever heard of.
