Registration required? FFL required? Government approval required? I think not... but that fireproof suit looks expensive...

World's First Commercially Available Flamethrower is Here

Excerpt:

Well, what could possibly go wrong?

The world's first commercially available handheld flamethrower has been created, and it looks terrifying.

The XM42, made by Ion Productions, can launch flame to a distance of up to eight metres and is readily transportable, with no need for a backpack of fuel. Simply load up the refillable tank with regular, car-ready petrol and away you go.

Chris Bryars of Ion said, "We wanted to bring a device to the market that represents what a real flamethrower should be", while the blurb on the website says that it is a "fun device to enjoy with friends" and ideal for "clearing snow and ice, eliminating weeds, insect control, pyrotechnic event displays and bonfire starting".

Yes, yes that's exactly what people will be using it for.

Zombé flambé!
The difference between theory and reality is that, in theory, there is no difference between theory and reality.

Because the size of this would likely prohibit concealed carry, I wonder if you could carry it "openly", you know, like a machete?

I also wonder what would happen if you showed up with it at the PD firearms registration area and asked "Do I need to register this? It could be an arm, and it involves fire."

Zombé flambé!
...
Well apparently the consensus amongst those who know about zombies is that a flame thrower is a bad move.
You will end up with flaming walking zombies setting fire to everything.
What, Me Worry?

I think it would be bad if u set the zombie on fire and it still comes after u,best shoot it in the head with your favorite firearm.

Flamethrowers.
Because someone once thought "Gee, I'd really like to set those people on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."
Always be yourself.
Unless you can be a pirate.
Then always be a pirate.
