Sling help?
« on: March 28, 2015, 10:14:29 AM »
So I got this sling from a friend, and honestly, it feels like way more material than I need.  Can anyone explain how this works?  I'm guessing it's a three point sling of some sort, but why is there so much strap?   Underneath that buckle part is more material that is sewn together over itself a couple of times too. ???

Is this some modern version of a 1907 sling?  if so,

Got any details?  Manufacturer?  Model?  Markings?

Hard to explain but I think one of the buckles, when released, allows the sling to extend so you can transition from right side to left side.  That's why there's all the extra material (I think).

If that's the case, then it's more likely a 3-point sling.

Looks like a 3 point.  I'm a huge fan of the Savvy Sniper slings, love me some tri-glide action.
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

Hey guys thanks for all the responses!  After watching the Speedtek's video and a couple other similar videos on youtube, It's confirmed what I have is a three point sling.  I appreciate all the helpful info and feedback.  :)
