LC 5.56 brass
« on: April 12, 2015, 08:56:22 PM »
Any local sources for once fired Lake City 5.56 brass?   Any recommendations for online sources?  I ordered from Scharch before but looks like now they only have already processed brass which cost more $.
Anyone use Texas G.I. brass, Everglades or Monmouth?

Carolina Brass used to have great prices and if you bought a certain amount they had free shipping. They have both 223 and 300 BLK. But I see they only sell processed now. But still at a great price.

They look alright, processed cheaper than other sites.   I'll try go local first but mahalo for the 411.

I bought 2k 300 BLK cases from them a couple of years ago. I have not bought any brass like this since. So things may have changed. But at the time they were only one of a few companies that sized, trimmed and swaged the primer pockets as part of their processing. At the time I bought the brass from them most of the brass processors did NOT full length size, trim and swage the primer pockets as part of their processing. All they did was deprime, clean and polish. For me this made my purchase from Carolina Brass a no brainer as FL sizing, trimming and swaging the primer pocket takes time to do. And it was 3 steps I didn't have to do for about the same price as the others. It is nice to pull out a 100 or 2 pieces of brass and just start loading without having to process the brass before I load them.

At the time they only had a Facebook page and did not have a website/online store. So to place an order I either had to call or e-mail them. I chose to email late in the afternoon here and received a reply within a few minutes even with the 5 or 6 hour time difference. They sent my brass the next day and I received it quickly.

I understand that you're looking for 5.56 brass, but let me know if you're interested in purchasing some once-fired military 308 brass too.

I'm trying to get this business off the ground and I'm in the middle of processing the once fired .308 Win/7.62NATO brass that I've acquired.  I'm waiting until I can process at a higher rate before making a post in the classifieds section.  Currently, I'm limited to processing on a smaller scale, but it should be sufficient for individual reloaders.

**Yay, This is my first real post!**

Just find some newbies who are  firing Federal AE XM193 at Koko Head and aren't  savvy enough to save the brass.

I have approximately 700-800 pieces of mixed headstamp brass that I picked up from Koko Head over about a one year period. All you have to do is ask.

They charged 2 hazmat fees and 5$ shipping....total $188 per m
I would find out what primers they put inside. Website does not say.
