If you had to be shipped out to another country but didn't know which one due to an emergency evacuation, what rifle and pistol would you bring... Oh yeah, it must be in your arsenal... Not like I know everyone's setup anyway...but you know what I mean.. ;D

For me, it would be My Glock and my AK... Which AK not sure yet.... ;) Reason being, the 7.62x39 would be the safest choice....I think.... knowing that a lot of the world uses the AK... I'm not a "GUNOLOGIST" so please don"t get offended with my noneducated choice... ??? :-\ ;D

That's my choice as well. Although, I'd need a 9mm glock, which I don't have, so I don't get stuck in a foreign country that doesn't use gool 'ol American .40.

I choose M16A2 and Beretta M9. I carried them around for enough years. I mastered shooting M16A2 to 600yds and M9 to 50 yds. 5.56mm NATO and 9mm NATO is universal arround the world, I got all the matching accessories and fashionable add -ons. A bunch of countries have standard issue rifles that use M16 compatable magazines.

I spent 40 years learning that the AK was the weapon of choice of the bad guys. I figure that there is a good part of the planet that kinda believes the same. I dislike getting shot at, but it really sucks to be shot at because of mistaken identity.

I figure if I really need an AK there would be a bunch of them laying on the ground after I empty my last M16 magazine.

Do you still gave a M16A2 in your personal arsenal?

If so, you're a lucky man.

My pops came over once from Molokai to stay over at my place... He never spoke too much about his time in the Special Forces as a Green Beret in Vietnam... He saw my collection and grabbed the AK first then the SKS second...with a big grin... I thought he would grab my Sig 516 first but he said it doesn't look anything like what they had way back when :(.... He couldn't stop talking about how cool the AK and SKS was....

He kept telling me how "good of a shot we all had to be cause you never knew if your M4 or M16 would jam from shooting too much between cleaning.." He said some guys would takem off of dead soldiers and hold them just in case.... He also said I have too much guns...but that part has nothing to do with this post

I'm Hawaiian, Filipino, Spanish so I'm gonna be mistakened of my identity anyway ;)

Not knowing anything at all about it (war zone, urban unrest, boonies?) I'd pick my SKS ranch rifle and my .22 Ruger Standard if limited to a rifle and pistol.

But my preference would be my shotgun with sling and two barrels and the .22 Ruger.  Forced to choose one or the other barrel, it would be the one with the polychoke rather than the long waterfowling barrel.  And puh-lenty of buckshot loads.

When running around the boonies, I used to "balance" my firepower.  If I was using a centerfire long arm, that would be accompanied by a .22 pistol or revolver.  If I was using  a .22 rifle, I'd carry either my .45 or a .357.

I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

I'll probably take my sub2k 9mm and 9mm pistol is just evacuating to safe zone. They will both fit in a small pack or under my shirt.

If evac to a known hostile area, m1a and 9mm pistol.

What if you already live is a good evacuation area? I know, dumb question. But I am wondering how much I should worry about protecting my home and surrounding area?

Just invite some of us over with a few ammo boxes each and we'll have a Bar B.Q.
