I worked at the Kecks for ten years, I know of some reports of some scary stuff going on at the summit.  Most (but not all) observatory people are stark raving liberal PC  atheists and anti gun nuts.  I hid the fact I am a Life NRA member as VIP people I worked with would have gone to HR and said they would not work with me out of some irrational fear of  people who own guns.  These anti TMT and generally anti observatory people could shut down the summit, using this tactic.  You could seriously impact a telescope mirror with a .308 bullet.   The whole summit is unarmed  and the cops are at best at least 30 minutes away.  Your escape route is all down hill and it is a big mountain.  Most all cops here are in two wheel drive personal muscle cars not even suitable for the 4WD cinder road.  Let your imagination run free.

This is not domestic terrorism. They shoot cops and burn buildings and cars in ferguson, mo and it's called peaceful protests. Who's to say it's a even a bullet hole. These a-holes probably have never seen a bullet hole in their life.
its libs fighting libs just like the rail.

So now some protestors are aligning their tactics with that of an international terrorist organization i.e. AQ, ISIS.
Yeah sure. We blew ourselves up over a telescope. We shot people because of a telescope. Silly.

Waiting for someone or a group to come out and claim it.  So would, those people that work up at those telescopes have a better chance of getting a CCW permit approved?  I doubt it.
