Great article. Very informative about the comparison of CCW laws in other states and Hawaii. Thanks for sharing.

Damn, never thought Ka Leo would get another pro-gun piece in there.

I thought i was gonna be the last.

the fence sitting annoys me though, acting like Texas is extreme, and that the registration somehow works, with no supporting evidence.   but better than usual.  although i will say the office as a whole isnt very averse to guns.

From the OP's link:

No one wants to see Hawai‘i go to the extremes of the new Texas bill, but the circuit court ruling should stand.

Whaaaaat?   :wtf:

I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.

The Texas bill is hardly extreme.  ::) I am happy to be back living in a free state. OC without a permit. I have CC with my permit since I moved back over a year ago. And to top it off we are well on our way to getting constitutional carry passed as well despite ole' bloombergs best efforts to sway the people. Go Maine!

well, for one, its his opinion, don't forget that.

two, they don't currently have a full opinion's editor selected.  they're transitioning the position, if they had all their copy editors (its summer) and a full opinion's editor, i can guarantee that that line would have been copy edited out since it has no supporting data in the article.

^ Apologetics notwithstanding, this article shows that the virus of "qualified rights" exists in his mind, even if it had been edited out.

And he has an audience, where this germ of an idea  of "qualified rights" will continue to filter out, one way or another.

"It's a fundamental personal civil right."

"Yeah, but..."

But.  Such a small word.
