I watched it. Couldn't tell which way they were leaning, however one of the judges kept bringing up the possibility of unloaded carry (with ammo) as a means of everyday self-defense. I thought that was weird at first, but now that I think about it more, it's not a horrible compromise. What do you guys think about that?

:wtf:

I don't compromise safety and self-defense.  You always have the option of carrying that way if it makes you feel better.

I've seen and read too many stories about how many seconds it takes for you to notice, recognize, and react to a threat.
You've already wasted several seconds just processing the environment enough to put you in the frame of mind that you're in danger.
Now it takes another couple of seconds to decide the right course of action.
Finally, you are at the point where you react.

Every second counts.  Even having a gun holstered and no round in the tube might mean the difference between surviving and not.

ASP Rewind: Firearms Should Be Carried Chambered And This Is Why!
While I am at the NRA Annual Meetings, I am revisiting a very few of the best of the "classic" ASP narrated videos. This one is an important reminder!

I know some people tout Israeli carry, the practice of carrying a firearm without a round in the chamber but with a full magazine. This video shows
why we at Active Self Protection think that is a really bad idea...it can get you killed!
