Oh, hey, look what I got in the mail!
« on: July 03, 2015, 11:15:53 PM »
So I found this in my mail today.  Wonder what kind of surprise I got.

Hmmm, "Guns in Hawaii Survey".  Can't be too bad right?  It is a non profit though....

BAM!   haha, you knew it was coming!  This oughta be good.  Let's see what we got.

Well well, a nice little letter directed at "friend".  hmmm, they might want to rephrase that one...

But how cute.  They want to fight the NRA in EVERY community.  So instead of lying about winning in a FEW places, they can lie EVERYWHERE!

What's next?

Ahhh, the survey!  Of course I'm filling this out.  I mean, if it saves one person...

Let's see, we start with a lie about 86 people being killed by gun violence every day (of COURSE they're counting suicides.  Not like that's, you know, a full two thirds of their numbers).  not a great start.

I'll give them a small sliver of credit though.  the first three questions are fairly unbiased (by their standards).  It must have hurt to put those options there.  let's see if it lasts.

nope, didnt last.

Everything they do is "smart gun safety" and "common-sense".  Everything the NRA does is "Reckless".  Damn, and to think i held out on a glimmer of hope (just kidding).

Your call here guys.  what should i fill out for section #3?  I'm stumped.  Do i Tell them I'm a gun owner, or troll them and claim im a victim of gun violence?  other ideas?

Love how the last question includes no options that DONT involve directly supporting Everytown For Mass Shootings.

I gave them a gift.  was i too generous?

They also packaged this WONDERFUL brochure.

Well, I think they got the wrong house.

do you think i can get a personal check where the background is just a picture of a middle finger?

i'd send them a check of 1 cent, just to waste their time.

I'd have also checked #7 for hosting a house party.

I'm kinda curious why they want to make my friends and family helpless victims... why they think it was a good thing someone got killed waiting for a permit to aquire, etc.

DId the return envelope  include postage? If so you should have cut it out before mailing. Making them have to pay twice for it. If not then send it without postage and make them pay for it.

If I were retired I would consider filing a nuisance/harassment small claims suit against them and then forget to show up. The cost for a high up and lawyer to fly out here plus hotel and car would be worth the $35 it would cost me.  :D

Contemplating this situation, maybe it would be a good idea to agree with their agenda so you could continue to be on the mailing list.

Should've made copies of that for everyone to return.

Does this group and the NRA actually use these surveys?  Or are they only asking for donations?

yeah, it was one of those "no postage necessary" things.

I DON'T OFTEN GET JUNK MAIL BUT WHEN I DO...

If it has a prepaid postage return envelope/package , I FILL IT TO THE BRIM because free postage back to them is weight based.  :shake:
Pack it full of the HEAVIEST weight paper  (be sure you're name or address is not on any of it) and send it off.

Be sure to remember this handy hint as election season is right around the corner. :grrr:
Let your anti self protection politician know all about the Foodland, SafeWay and local hardware specials or for even more fun, send each of them their opponents or your favorite politicians endorsement mail !

I want one ! I want one !

I am a gun owner and gun violence survivor.
Had I not been armed with my legal CCW, I would not be here to fill out this survey.

I would be MORE than happy to collect "Gun Sense Voter Pledges" ( what I do with them is my 1st amendment right)

HOW SERIOUS DO YOU FEEL GUN VIOLENCE IS IN THE USA?

1) Very serious, not enough people are armed or aware of the need to be armed.

2) Not that serious, I am happy for me and my family to be armed.

3) Not serious, I am more worried about prices of ammunition.

4) Wait, you mean the lies about gun violence? Oh, then very serious!
