One of the HFD aircraft was up Waihawa yesterday and it went down for maintenance according according to HNN. HNN said that if they need to continue searching today for the hiker HPD's aircraft would be available. That leads me to believe only 1 of 2 HFD aircraft were flyable yesterday prior to the second one having issues.

This one was HF, Yellow/White. Cease fire till basket and crew came down. Range went hot about 8:30.

Wonder if C & C would be responsible and get sued if some one got hurt up there and there were no aircraft to assist or rescue ?  :wacko:

they should pass that law charging people for rescues like how they want to do on Kauai.

We don't quite bill just yet. It is being discussed by county council members and presented before the community first.
